Greetings comrades! We meet again! Its has been too long and I have missed you but my computer has had other ideas and has sabotaged each of my attempts at bloggage by dying a very protracted and painful death-we are currently at 5% power and despite being on permanent charge we seem to drop a % every few days-the end is nigh and the bank balance is empty so this may be it for a while!
This last month Ophelia Days has been busy trying out new hairdos, thinking about her roles in a few up and coming events (more on that nearer the time!) and generally adjusting to wearing a tablecloth and deeley boppers! Lots of questions are being raised about her ability to wear make-up...will it damage her fine complexion? will it stay on her slick skin? One of her future projects may involve more or less full body make-up and although she is up for it we need to be careful not to cause any damage because she is of course proper vintage-not just some modern retro dummy! Gonna have to do a small test patch behind the ear I think like all the best beauty products! Intriguing as it is, I can't say more because the whole thing is secret!! In addition I am wondering how damp does the air have to be for camping to be a no no for our Ophelia? It is possible, British rubbish weather permitting, that Ophelia is going to star as a tart seller at a vintage tea dance stall at Ickworth House as part of the Bury St. Edmunds Cancer Research Relay for Life...do help her raise funds by either eating a tart on the day (sounds a little dodgy!) or better still by donating at the link below to her team 'The Diamond Slippers'! http://relay.cancerresearchuk.org/site/TR?pg=pfind&fr_id=1040&fr_search_
How our style icon will take to tent life I don't know and I suspect I'll have to put in a bit of glamping effort for her to feel at home! Best dig out the feather pillows and Moroccan lanterns for Ophelia whilst the rest of us make do with a rolled up damp jumper and a pound shop torch with useless rusted batteries. Never the less as long as she works it baby at that stall and impresses the punters with her patter (maybe an ask too far?!) and pinny she is welcome to whatever luxuries I can transport there! I expect she'll end up in the rotunda anyway-much more her cup of tea! Do Come on Down to Ickworth House on 27th July for the relay-its a great day out for all the family and the price will be right! (its a free day with cheap tarts!)
In other news I have discovered I have been mainly dressing lately like David Essex-blazer, scarf, curly mop-I draw the line at the 5 o'clock shadow and earring but I remain shocked that such a 70's legend has become my style icon! Ophelia must be horrified! Whilst rummaging for an appropriate shot of the original Essex I was struck by how similar he looks now in his latter years to Peter Gabriel, much as Harry Potter looks exactly like Adrian Mole. Weird! This month Ophelia has been mostly looking like The King himself yet minus the burger eating issues-yet she never does any exercise...strange! Here are just a few photos for your continued pleasure of life this last month at the family ramblings! Fingers crossed please for computer health! xxx
