'Tis funny that as soon as I finally get a day where I have got time to clear the fluff out from under my bed because I haven't got appointments, urgent errands and new man is poorly and I'm not a very good nurse, I suddenly find the urge to blog! Fluff you can fester for one more day (not sure it can actually but hey ho-or ho hey! but thats another story!) despite my keen purchasing of super wipes and stinky cleany spray stuff!
Here at family ramblings we are now on 0% battery on the comp and have scary warnings of a hard disk error that pop up every 5 mins! Ostrich behaviour has begun although I have backed up some stuff so perhaps my head is half in and half out of the sand-no wonder my eye feels gritty!
Anyway enough of the boring bits, let me update you on the cracking news we have been gifted with from a mannequin lover from afar (lover in a non dodgy way let me be clear!) Ophelia Days has been following @OhMannequin in twitterland for a while now-a rather gorgeous window dresser/installation artist/mannequin mad guy from no less than Hollywood itself! Well this man is a magic mannequin maestro it turns out and just from eyeballing photos of our Ophelia he has been able to tell me that she is a Rootstein model from the late 70's based on the famous model Pat Cleveland from the Pat and Pretty set. She is model P5-a rare and very sought after find! Mr Lovely from Hollywood could also spot that her left arm is not original (which now explains why her wrist and shoulder joins on that side don't sit flush). Below is a photo (for you if you are reading @OhMannequin) of the numbers on her left arm-LJ2/82-any ideas of the origin? Also I am left wondering why Ophelia is so pale since Pat Cleveland was a celebrated black fashion model and her colouring is not the same as Ophelias? Any ideas? What a joy it has been to find out a bit more about our lovely lady! I am so amazed that such info has been gleaned from my crappy photo's but then again perhaps its easier to tell what bits are original and which bits are not if you hang out in California! No one in Newton has had a boob job! :0) Huge thanks to the mannequinmeister himself!
We have also had a brief encounter with a fabulous pair of ladies who run Wear it, Love it, Share it-a fun filled recycled clothing initiative out of an old horsebox! What a treat it was to nose around their treasure filled trailer and try on glam goods-Ophelia would have been right at home! Check their facebook page for more info on how they are doing a cracking job in the world of green glamour! https://www.facebook.com/wearit I did manage to get a photo of their MANnequin but Ophelia is yet to comment!
This last month or so has seen me make farting noises in a steam room again! (not real I promise), date a man in speedo's, discover I am awesome at French cricket and start yearning for ownership of an ex fairground carousel horse. Thing One has gone hooping crazy. Thing Two has been building fires and Australia (luckily not together!) and Skitz, the not yet dead cat, has increased her shrew collection (the Imelda Marcos of the cat world obviously) and even remembered to bring me a fresh one on my birthday! How very er...kind! Odette has been going through an overbaked Farrah Fawcett phase and our Ophelia has been trying out my bling for the Ely Gig! Evidence below!
Right, til next time folks! I expect the fluff will still be there!
