Well well well campers, life in the ramblings household has been nothing short of chaos of late with the arrival of Odette, a party to end all parties, another new addition pending and the integration of man! (and thats without even mentioning International Womens Day or the price of petrol!).
I would love to tell you that Ophelia has warmed wonderfully to Odette her Neice and taken to the role of proxy parenting like a duck to water but it is rather a case of taking to it like an mouth ulcer does to salt-its not been a pleasure lets say! Odette in response perhaps has monkeyed about like a goodun this week getting into all sorts of capers such as wig pilfering, endlessly playing statues and refusing to move when she needs to go out and hiding bank cards. I am hoping this will all settle down because it looks like she will be here for some time. Perhaps the pending arrival of our new kitty Skittles will ease the path! Skitz is a very affectionate and curious lady cat who will no doubt enjoy a bit of mannequin leg weaving! Pictures to follow.
Today Ophelia has had a much needed day off and has entertained a bunch of pre-teens with her modelling skills! Every party needs a mannequin willing to be dressed and designed and boy did they do that! Not an item of clothing was left unworn, not a wig left lonely. I could've easily saved myself a whole load of time, energy and squids by not organizing stupendous crafts and just letting the Opheliamania reign! They could've gone on for hours!! Days like these remind me that I live in a wonderful household and somehow it allows me to forget about the disaster of the back garden or the bogey collection on the walls. These walls see true fun!
Much laughter has also been had this week seeing John Shuttleworth perform his songs about the dilemma of having two open margarines in the fridge or his love for his Austin Ambassador Y Reg at The Junction, Cambridge with my dearest (and only) sister Mrs Keate! I love the way I can relate to the ridiculous scenarios his songs are based on-the man is a genius! Here for your delight is one of his numbers...
