Greetings to all and sundry...apologies for the lack of news of late-life has gotten in the way somehow! Anyway, here we are, back in the bosom of the blog with tales to tell and snaps to share!
Life for Ophelia Days has been rather exciting of late with interest in her future coming from many quarters...there has been talk of attending a wedding, hooking up with a male mannequin for fun and frivolity, acquiring a "plus sized" friend (don't you hate that phrase!) and perhaps even getting on the old goggle box but for now she is quite content with the odd day outside of the 4 walls that is the rambling household for a bit of fresh air and external enjoyment! Todays outing took us to Burwash Manor Barns to visit the obligatory Christmas Shop and annual nudging of the kids to remember to buy me a little something for the big day whilst in Nest! As you can tell from the photo Ophee wasn't overly enthralled by the car journey (think she was disapproving of the state of the car rather than travel sick) but many a passer-by seemed curious about her presence. I did feel a bit bad after some poor young girl caught sight of her in the dark and her eyes grew wider and wider as we reversed out of the carpark. She will most likely have some very weird dreams tonight and probably wake up her parents with tales of crash test dummies coming to life or something at ridiculous o'clock! Oops!
Our favourite part of the day was the train ride on a small gauge railway with steam blowing and wind in the hair...Thing 1 had to hang on to Ophee for fear of her making a break for it, having never done rail transport before but a lovely time was had by all aboard Starlight and we met some lovely ladies doing great work for the wonderful Sick Childrens Trust (http://www.sickchildrenstrust.org/index.html). Although the carousel was calling it was decided that perhaps the wee little seats were just a bit too wee for even Ophelias bottom. Never mind-it might have been a case of too much excitement!
Unfortunately Ophelia was too worn out too join us at the recommended Meldreth Holy Trinity Church Christmas Tree Festival (thanks to Jimmy)-all those lights and sparkle! She would've loved it!
Lovely to catch up with the Schumachers today aswell...what a friendly day out we have had! Enjoy the photees!
